Oral History Faculty Curator Grant
UCLA Library Center for Oral History Research
http://www.library.ucla.edu/special/13973.cfm
The UCLA Library Center for Oral History Research is now accepting
applications for its 2010-11 Faculty Curator Grant. This award
provides up to $3,000 for programming organized around a particular
theme related to research and issues in qualitative interviewing. The
programming may take the form of a series of lectures, panels, films,
or any other presentational media that draw on or discuss qualitative
interviews in any way. Funding can be applied to all costs associated
with the programming, including honoraria, travel, and lodging.

The grant-funded events must be scheduled during the 2010-11 winter
and/or spring quarters. They should be of potential interest to the
larger campus community and should also be presented in conjunction
with a UCLA center, department, research group, or campus constituency
to which the sponsoring faculty member can serve as liaison. The
successful applicant will be responsible for organizing the
programming – i.e., conceptualizing it, identifying speakers, etc. –
but library staff will handle all scheduling, travel, and other
logistics.

Application Contents
Applications are due November 15, 2010, and should include:

• Cover letter that contains a description of the proposed
programming, including its theme and an explanation of how each event
would relate to that theme

• Curriculum vitae of the applicant

• List of proposed speakers, filmmakers, or performers, along
with their institutional affiliation, if any, and email contact
information

• Description of faculty constituency and any affiliated
groups with list of individual members’ names

• Estimated budget including facility rental, honoraria, and
travel and per diem expenses, if any

Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.
