Hello everyone--

I am writing to invite any interested faculty to the first ever CSW Faculty Writing Retreat.  I have heard about these retreats held on other campuses and those who attended said they were incredibly helpful.  One junior faculty member said she finished a draft of a chapter in her retreat and another told me she finished an article.  The way the retreat works is as follows.  Participants complete all the research for a piece of writing — generally for  a chapter in a book or an article— prior to the retreat.  At the retreat, which will begin Friday, September 14th and end September 16th, participants write in a quiet room from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, with breaks for lunch, coffee, and snacks.  CSW will provide the food and a snack/chatting/dining room adjacent to the quiet writing room.  Friday night and Saturday night you leave at 5:30 and return the following morning.  The retreat will end on Sunday, September 16th at 5:30 pm.
