The UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) is accepting applications from undergraduate and graduate
students for the
Elizabeth Blackwell, M.D., Award. This award is made possible through the generosity of
Penny
Kanner, Ph.D., and helps fund student research in topics pertaining to women, health, or women in
health-related sciences.
Undergraduate Award
One award of $1,000 will be given for a publishable research report or published article by a UCLA undergraduate
student written while at UCLA relating to women, health, or women in health-related sciences. (Examples include
medicine, biological and other sciences, public health, sociology of medicine, history of science, medical education, or health
policy.) Multi-authored articles will be considered, as long as the applicant has made a significant contribution to the research.
