CSW 2011 Mary Wollstonecraft Dissertation Award

Funding Available for UCLA Doctoral Candidates

The UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) is accepting applications from UCLA students for the Mary Wollstonecraft Dissertation Award. 

This award is made possible through the generosity of Penny Kanner, PhD. and offers $1000 in grant money to help fund a promising graduate student dissertation research project on women or gender which makes use of historical materials and methods. If planning to file a doctoral dissertation by June 1, 2011, applicant is eligible pending verification of filing status. Students must be registered and enrolled in a PhD program at UCLA and have advanced to candidacy before the award deadline. Students who advance to candidacy after the deadline are not eligible. 

 

Deadline: Thursday May 5, 2011

 

In order to complete the online application, please provide the following:

 

·         Dissertation Abstract

·         Completed Dissertation

·         Curriculum Vitae 

·         Transcript (unofficial copy is acceptable)

·         Letter of recommendation from two faculty members (one of which must be 
from the candidate's chair, usually the nominating faculty member). The letters should be mailed to CSW in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature across the back flap. Mailing information is provided in the application form.
