Dear CSW Faculty Affiliates -
CSW invites you to recommend UCLA doctoral students who are writing
dissertations on research related to gender, sexuality and women’s issues for
the opportunity to participate in a writing retreat. The following is the
description:
As
part of CSW’s Graduate Student Initiative, CSW will convene a writing retreat
for UCLA doctoral students writing dissertations on research related to gender,
sexuality and women’s issues. An intensive two-day experience designed to
facilitate the writing process, the CSW writing retreat will provide a large
conference room, the camaraderie of fellow dissertators, and breakfast, lunch
and snacks. The writing retreat is ideally suited for dissertators
finishing up a chapter or the project overall. In order for the retreat
to be effective, students should have the research for whatever section of
their dissertation they will be working on completed. The retreat will be
devoted entirely to writing. Similar writing retreats held at other
universities have been successful in encouraging doctoral students to make
significant headway in writing a chapter or editing parts or all of their
dissertations.
When: Saturday, June 19, 9am-5pm and Sunday, June 20, 9am-5pm
Where: Young Research Library
RSVP to Patricija Petrac at [log in to unmask] by Monday, May 3.
A yes RSVP affirms participants commitment to attend the retreat in its
entirety.
All the best,
Kathleen
