2009 February 9

Dear CSWAC and CSW Faculty Affiliates:

The Center for the Study of Women (CSW) seeks applications for the
Thinking Gender 2010 Conference Coordinator. This position is an
exciting opportunity for a graduate student with a scholarly interest in
research on women, sexuality and gender.

The paid position is open to current UCLA graduate students who have or
will be advanced to doctoral candidacy by Fall 2009. The Coordinator
will plan and manage the event in conjunction with CSW staff. The
conference coordination will run from approximately August through
February; the hours are flexible with periods of intermittent intensity.
The Coordinator will enhance her or his organizational skills, establish
contacts with innovative graduate students and faculty from across the
country, gain a behind-the-scenes perspective on a competitive selection
process, and perform an important service to the academic community.

Thinking Gender is an annual public conference that draws graduate
students from across the disciplines--humanities, social sciences, life
sciences, arts, law, education, public health, and public policy--to
share feminist research on women, sexuality and gender. The conference
will be held on February 5, 2010. For information about previous years,
please click here <http://www.csw.ucla.edu/thinkinggender.html> .

I would appreciate if you would approach any UCLA graduate students who
come to mind about this exciting opportunity. The application deadline
is Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 5:30 pm. See below for further details.
Please direct questions about the Coordinator position or application
process to April de Stefano, CSW Assistant Director, at
