Dear fellow Research Scholars,

It is my pleasure to be serving as your Research Scholar Liaison this
year. Welcome to our new scholars and welcome back to our returning
folks.

As your liaison, I'm here to help facilitate some of our on-going
activities during the academic year.  I'll be organizing the quarterly
brown-bag lunch series, where you are invited to present
work-in-progress, I'll be facilitating the research scholars listserv,
and helping out with our occasional get-togethers, including our
annual summer luncheon which will be coming up in early September.
That's a very fun event, a chance to meet everyone over a delicious
lunch.  More details to follow soon.

For the time being, I want to encourage you all to fill out the brief
survey that April de Stefano sent along, and return it back to me via
e-mail. Thanks to those of you who have already responded. We are
trying to assess how the Research Scholars program is doing, and
explore ways we might improve as well.  Please share your ideas with
us!  As well, if any of your are itching to get yourself on the
schedule for the brown bag lunch series this year, please let me know
approximately when you'd like to present.

I will be communicating with you all again soon. For now, welcome and
hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer.
