Hi All!--

I'm doing this March 2 half-day LA River tour for the Chancellor's
office, and we have 3 seats available on the bus for any CSW folks who
want to come.

And if we have more than 3 people who want to come, it's also possible
to set up carpools to accompany the bus.

If you'd like to join us, please just e-mail me and we'll get you on
the list. First come first serve for the bus!

Best--

Jenny

Outdoors with Mrs. Carol Block: Tour of the Los Angeles River

Saturday, March 2, 2013

Bus departs from Ackerman turnaround at 8:00 a.m.

Bus returns to Ackerman turnaround by 2:00 p.m.

Join UCLA's First Lady, Mrs. Carol Block, for an up-close look at the
past, present, and future of our famed (but oft-misunderstood) Los
Angeles River on Saturday, March 2. The half-day tour will be led by
expert guide Dr. Jenny Price, Research Scholar at the UCLA Center for
the Study of Women and Friend of the Los Angeles River, and will
include four stops between Los Feliz and downtown Los Angeles.

Round-trip bus transportation from UCLA will be provided. Water,
fruit, and healthy snacks will be provided on the bus, and you are
welcome to bring your own as well. The tour will include a short
walking component but is not physically demanding.

Tour Details:
1st Stop: Glendale Narros (Los Feliz Area).
Includes a walking area
2nd Stop: Marsh Park (Elysian Valley
Neighborhood). Good area for lunch or a snack break
                         3rd Stop: Confluence (San Fernando
Road/Riverside Dr. Area)
4th Stop: Iconic concrete river bed in
Downtown Los Angeles
