Hundreds more have been harassed, displaced and/or disappeared. Of these over half came from the organized opposition movement. 80 of those killed were women - half murdered while working as GABRIELA Women's Party organizers, one of the only women's electoral parties in the world. In May 2006, GABRIELA Network USA organized an all-women human rights delegation with lawyers from the Center for Constitutional Rights, the National Lawyers Guild and the International Association of Democratic Lawyers to investigate. We invite the Bay Area community to the West Coast release of their findings, with an update on the current situation in the Philippines. Join us to support the women in the Philippines in their quest for justice! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CULTURE - FOOD - DISCUSSION $7-10 (no one turned away for lack of funds) All money goes to the GABRIELA Philippine Women's Legal Defense Fund For more information contact: [log in to unmask] Check out: http://sfbaygabnet.pbwiki.com GABRIELA Network - SF Bay Area Chapter est. 1989 "A woman's place is in the struggle.
